Every year more and more brides opt for a Christmas wedding! We have come up with a list of ideas on how to make your dream wedding become a reality!

Nothing says Christmas more than Christmas cards so get your guests excited by sending them Christmas themed wedding invitations! You may want to make your invitations into cards or maybe stick to a simple design but add a simple design such as snowflakes to the invite.

Brides, nothing says Christmas wedding more than a stunning lace fairy tale dress with matching fur bolero! Wearing a faux fur cape, shawl or coat will completely transform your look so you can look like a winter princess on your special day! You may want to wear a winter themed floral crown instead of a tiara. Holly, mistletoe and pinecones will make a beautiful Christmas crown fit for any winter bride!
After saying your vows and becoming legally wed, you walk out to greet your guests! This is usually the time where guests will throw confetti over you and your groom. Instead of confetti you may want your guests to throw fake snow over you! Sparklers would look perfect in photos, so ask your guests to use sparklers when you walk out of the venue. You may even want your guests to ring bells instead of throwing confetti or using sparklers.

Your colour scheme can set the mood for your whole wedding. Silver, gold, reds and greens will look perfect for your winter wedding. No colour says Christmas more than red and green! Dark reds and berry colours are perfect for getting that winter feeling. A pale, pastel blue will give the effect of ice. Set the theme with an ice skating rink to go with your blue colour scheme! I guarantee your wedding will be the wedding of the century with an ice rink!

Have your guests walk into a Wedding Wonderland complete with fake snow, a Christmas tree and all the decorations you can imagine! Have a sleigh next to your Christmas tree where guests can leave gifts and cards. Decorate the Christmas tree in your wedding’s colour scheme to bring everything together. Coloured baubles will light up your Christmas tree. You may even want to put some in a fishbowl for your centerpieces.

Hang fairy lights around the venue for that Christmassy feel. If your venue allows naked flames, candles are perfect to scatter around the room, especially on the tables. You may even be able to have a fire blazing if there’s a fireplace! Stockings will look perfect hanging over the fireplace. Hanging holly and mistletoe will finish your Christmas decorations. Finally, hang a wreath on the entrance door before your guests enter grotto.

Make your table plan into an advent calendar and use Christmas themed table names. Decorate your centrepieces with fishbowls filled with a selection of pinecones, holly, cranberries, mistletoe and baubles. An ice sculpture will look perfect in the centre of the top table!
Now for the food.

Everyone knows there’s mince pies, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, a chocolate log, chocolates in all varieties and of course the big Christmas turkey at Christmas! Surprise your guests with a Christmas themed spread! Your evening buffet could consist of pigs in blankets, sausage balls, mini Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and of course those all-important turkey sandwiches! But don’t forget the cranberry sauce! Let your guests dig in before getting out the cheese and biscuits, breadsticks and selection of mini Christmas desserts and crisps! Scatter boxes of Christmas chocolates around your reception venue for your guest to tuck into but make sure you don’t forget those chocolate oranges and marzipan fruits! Hand out candy canes to the children, after all it may keep them quiet for a bit!

A Christmas market will be the icing on top of the cake! Set out mini stalls full of mulled wine, pretzels and roasted chestnuts! Your guests will really think they’ve walked into a Christmas Wonderland!

Finish your food with a stunning Christmas themed wedding cake! Maybe you want to include a sprinkle of edible snow, snowflakes or snowmen on your wedding cake! You may even want a traditional Chocolate log as your wedding cake!

We all like a drink so why not serve some typical Christmas drinks at your reception? Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows for the children and designated drivers and Baileys, snowballs and Eggnog for the adults!

If you are thinking about giving out small wedding favours to your guests, why not make them into little Santa sacks? Attach labels to the sacks that say ‘Naughty’ and ‘Nice’ to add a little bit of fun to your gifts.

Play Christmas songs during the reception to get your guests in the party mood! You may even want to have a carol session around the Christmas tree! If you’re having a photo booth, use Christmas themed props to give your guests a little giggle!

Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the Queen’s speech! Try and get the best man to dress up as the Queen to give his speech. This is sure to get your guests relaxed and laughing!

So there you have it! A few of our ideas on how to make your Christmas Wedding a reality!
