Pearl and Crystal Necklace

Some brides like to change their dress for their wedding reception. Some change into a second wedding gown, others opt for an evening gown or cocktail dress. If you’re changing into something a little more comfortable you will need even more help when buying your accessories.

Accessories are as important as the dress! They bring the whole outfit together and can really create that wow! Do not over do it, sometimes less is more. If you’re wearing a glamorous diamanté encrusted sparkle dress you may not want a necklace but bring your personalty out with the earrings, whether you go for a drop earring or stud. Bracelets can be kept simple and are great if you are not having a necklace but bare in mind that it needs to be smooth as you do not want it catching on your dress.

Your beads/stones need to match your dress. A necklace will look more flattering following your neckline of your dress. If you are wearing a sweet heart neckline, then you can afford to go for a longer, chunkier necklace. If you are wearing a v neck or off the shoulder dress, go for a shorter, simpler necklace that will give you a little bit of shape around your neck. With a halter neck, strap dress, go medium length but with a thin chain as you want your necklace to sit evenly across your chest without going over the straps of your dress.

To summarize:

  1. Don’t over do it; sometimes less is more.
  2. Let your accessories bring out your personality.
  3. If you are wearing a diamante encrusted dress, skip the necklace but go for a statement earring.
  4. Make sure your bracelet will not catch on your dress.
  5. A necklace will look more flattering if you follow your neckline.

An outfit isn’t an outfit without all the extras. Accessories bring the whole outfit together. They’re the icing on top of the cake.
